HSK 1-2 test only Listening and Reading: short sentences and dialogues at a slower pace, and word/sentence matching. The key is building high-frequency vocabulary and basic patterns until you understand on hearing.
HSK 3-4 add Writing: longer dialogues and passages in Listening, passage comprehension in Reading, and fill-in-the-blank plus sentence building in Writing. Practice key structures (把/被 sentences) and consolidate the 300-1,200 word range — our grammar and vocabulary sections complement this.
HSK 5-6 are demanding: news and interviews in Listening, long passages and logical inference in Reading, and summaries plus essay writing. Read widely in Chinese, practice timed writing, and put tricky words into spaced repetition.
